It’s hard to believe that the Bonnie pups are already a month old! Since their arrival on February 23rd, they have grown so much, not just in size, but in personality too.
These babies are officially big, feisty, and full of life. We recently moved them into their new, larger quarters, and they are loving the extra space to explore. With that upgrade has also come a lot more stimulation. They are constantly surrounded by the activity of our three kids, along with the daily entertainment of our robot vacuum (which they are both curious about and slightly suspicious of!).
One of the biggest changes is that they are now in the same room as the Ghillie pups. And if you know anything about that crew… they are wild 😂 The Bonnie pups are very interested in all the noise and chaos and spend plenty of time watching (and learning!) from them.
We’re starting to see their little personalities really come alive. There’s a noticeable mix of sass, confidence, and curiosity developing in each of them and it is so fun to watch. At the same time, they are still incredibly sweet and love their snuggles.
Mama Bonnie is still doing such a great job. She continues to nurse them a few times a day and, true to form, is still happy to take care of cleanup duty (even when it earns her a “stinky face” from us!). Over the last few days, we’ve also introduced mash, which is softened dog food soaked in water to help them learn how to eat. They are picking it up quickly and starting to enjoy the process.
This past Sunday was another big milestone, they got their first little taste of the outdoors! While we were transitioning them into their new space, they spent some time in a pen on our flagstone patio. They handled it so well and took in all the new sights and smells.
Every day they seem a little bigger, a little bolder, and a little more fun. It truly is such a special stage.
And somehow… we are already less than a month away from them going home. That part is always bittersweet, but we are so excited for each of them and the families they will be joining.
Stay tuned, these next few weeks are going to be full of even more growth, play, and personality!
